  Children's Dental Health Month Children's Dental Health Month is observed nationally during the month of February. Canton Valley Dental participates in this event with local school visits, teaching children proper oral hygiene and nutrition. Gifts of Love During the holidays, Canton Valley Dental donates unwrapped toys to "Gifts of Love", an organization in Avon that provides for local families in need. Sam Collins Day Sam Collins Day, a Canton Community business event, is celebreated each year on the third Saturday in September. This event is sponsored by the Canton Chamber of Commerce and showcases area businesses, community organizations and crafters. WIDE OPEN Golf Tournament The WIDE OPEN Golf Tournament, now in its 28th year, was organized by Dr. Charles Keefe and Avon resident, Keith Blankenbicker, to benefit substance abuse programs for those at risk in the local schools. Two groups that have benefited are DARE, which gives children the skills needed to avoid involvement with drugs and alcohol and IMPACT, an organization that helps raise teenage safe driving awareness. Thanks to the generosity of the community, monies in excess of $180,000 have been raised to support these programs. This event will be on the first Friday in October and is open to the public.
